nice read .. one more thing I would like to mention .. a graduate just cant get a job the moment he/she passes out (unless its first class first) .. in last seven years what I've learnt is, its important to have more experience in the field rather than just a high-rated degree. Universities never (or can never) prepare you for the 'real' stuff .. they may give an idea how will it be like out there but never the actual atmosphere ..

The guy you mentioned was being given a job as a Trainee, it would have been great if he had done this trainee job a year ago and now when he had graduated, he would have not just a degree but an experience of 12 months working in a nice firm. I, myself, will be graduating next year. I've already had two job offers, not because of what I'm studying, but because of my 5-7 years experience in the actual world.

And finally, as my dad says to me, do whatever you want, but be the best at it. There is no point in doing something with half-hearted. And I don't believe in 'market' demand, one my really close friends is doing a Library Management Course!! When did you last hear about such a course even exists but still the guy loves it and is enjoying. He tells me there are not a lot of people doing it and there are demands of such jobs in libraries and universities where there are a lot of books and what lacks is a management system.

To wrap everything up .. Study what you enjoy because you will be doing it for the rest of your life. If you cant get an idea what to do, get some part time jobs and get a feel how it is to work in that environment. Once, you are sure what you seek, go for it. Get enrolled in a uni and start looking for a related job. And most above all, work hard .. cuz its worth it !!
