I live in UK and I think its pretty much fair here ..
And I really ain't clear whats the issue here? Women ain't free or they ain't considered equal to men?
No one is (or should be) allowed to evade social rules. If a sociey considers its bad to have a one night stand, it doesn't matter if its a guy or a girl, both are considered equally wrong. If a society considers dating is wrong, same for that. Now if you're thinkin 'oh guys get away with dating in Pakistan/UK/Timbaktu/Mars, I can easily counter it with 'oh girls do it today, not all guys go on dates with goris'
Another point to ponder about, why do moms prefer son over daughters? I seriously don't want to know the answer but I believe you will understand when you'll get married and have a son. The point I'm trying to pose here is you just can't go on blaming men for this because I've seen lots of families where women hold the authority and they prefer boys over girls?
One final word, a bit off-topic, I've believed from the start, girls are way better than guys (on certain fronts). They are more sensitive, they can absorb more, they are better at understanding, they can multi-task better, but I somehow always come to the same conclusion that they are competing on a wrong front. They can do much more, bring happniess and provide peace to the whole family by being an important part of a society. For that they do not have to surpass any man, they certainly do not need to be hightest mark scorer at the school/college/university, for that they just have to be good daughter/wife/mother. Mothers shape boys AND girls, that is the very reason why female tutors are more common for kids going to KG.
I'm not saying I agree to the all the harrassments, I certainly ain't saying I agree to all those narrow minded families who overlook girls over guys, what I'm saying is a wife can be equal to the husband by staying in home and doing the job as a house-wife whereas the husband take cares of the outside. You do not have to do the same thing to be considered equal, and the day woman realise this, that day will definately make a lot of peoples' life better, much better.
