The PM Melodrama

Not that I don't like blogging about Pakistani politics, it's just that things lately have been pretty boring. The TV channels are dramatizing the PM nomination process to the max and the PPP is at a verge of a collapse. Thanks to, you know who; Mr. 10% aka Asif Ali Zardari. The moment he set foot in Pakistan without the face he used to carry (Mostaches, remember?) I knew he was upto something for his own personal good. With Benazir out of the picture, he looks obnoxiously ready to take over th

Hope this entry finds you in good health. I am currently monitoring the 2008 Pakistan elections and am keeping an eye to see if there's anything as such as rigging on the Gonvernmental level. If truth be told, no, it's not happening.
I just saw rangers roaming the streets announcing through the loudspeaker. Verbatim: anyone found creating mischief will be shot at sight!
Tomorrow is going to be a tough day for me because I am appointed at a senstive polling booth in the city - one which h

Pakistan's premier Urdu news channel, also seen round the world as the main source of news and current affairs, was shut down at 1 a.m. Pakistan time (12 midnight Dubai time) after President Pervez Musharraf put tremendous pressure to silence a media outlet which had refused to bow down to his dictates.
Informed sources said President Pervez Musharraf himself intervened to stop all GEO news transmissions from Dubai, after a two-week standoff in Pakistan during which all major news channels w

Errm, don't really have anything to blog about so I have decided to slowly take my pick on these little issues meandering around me.
Lets begin with the Punjab Government funded ads being aired on all the mainstream news channels. Seriously, what is this wannabe gay (pay attention to his extempore or otherwise mien) model albeit the doleful CM Pervez Elahi upto? He could've better spent the money (in millions of rupees) for the welfare of people. This PR stunt best suits state-run PTV becau

I am watching GEO news (the 24/7 Pakistani news channel) right now and they are airing a punjab police raid on their office. Some 50 odd or so police officers entered into their Islamabad office illegally, tortured the staff & journalists & damaged their building. Please note that GEO tv and other independent media outlets have already been threatned & harassed by the Goverment of Pakistan for showing defiance against Musharraf's tyranny.
