It's official now. Sanjay Dutt and girlfriend of two years Manyata have tied the knot.
Putting to rest endless speculation about their marital status, the newly-wed couple confirmed the news before the media on Monday afternoon, after a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony at a common friend's residence in Versova's Badrinath Towers.

"I am very happy," said Dutt, who was dressed in a golden-coloured kurta. Wife Manyata was dressed in a golden lehenga and had vermillion smeared on her forehead. The ceremony was attended by only a few of Dutt's close friends including the likes of Bunty Walia, Suniel Shetty, Dharam Oberoi and Yusuf Nulwala, who has also been convicted under the Arms Act along with the star actor.

Following Hindu customs, Oberoi gave the bride away. "The mehendi happened last night. There was song and dance and we had a great time. It continued till morning," said a friend of Dutt who attended the wedding. "The saat phera was performed in the morning today," added Oberoi.

Prior to the ceremony, the couple were married in Goa's Taj Exotica on February 7 under the Special Marriage Act. After the private ceremony in Versova, from where the bride had her bidaai, the duo headed to Dutt's residence in Bandra's Imperial Heights.

"A small reception has been planned for close friends at Bandra's Seijo and the Souldish in the evening," said Oberoi. The Munnabhai star was in a jovial mood and thanked his fans and media persons. "Now we will enjoy our honeymoon at home," he joked.

However, Dutt's sisters Priya Dutt Roncon, Namrata Gaurav and other family members stayed away from the wedding. Reportedly, they were not even aware of the proceedings initially. Though Dutt expressed her happiness on television channels later, the family did not join the celebrations. "We are not aware of any wedding reception," said Krishna Hegde, spokesperson for Dutt.

In recent times, Manyata has been a dominating influence in the actor's life.

Dutt completed his divorce proceedings against second wife Rhea Pillai last month. Manyata, originally called Dilhaaz Shaikh, has also been married and divorced three times in the past. Hailing from a business family in Dubai, she even appeared in an item song in Prakash Jha's Gangajaal in 2003.

The duo has no immediate plans for a honeymoon. "Sanju is currenly shooting for Kidnap. He has signed 22 films and is extremely busy now," added Oberoi.
