DesiTwist now adds SMS capabilites aka text messaging support. Now our desi users can specify their cell phone number and cell phone provider in their User CP, and receive certain notifications from our desi forums via text message. Our currently supported notifications include notification of new private message and the ability for our members to text message a user from the forums (like the email function, using a secure form). Currently supported countries include Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bermuda, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Hungary, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lebanon, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Netherlands, Norway, Panama, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Serbia/Montenegro/Yugoslavia, Singapore, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Tanzania, Ukraine, United Kingdom, and United States. DesiTwist has been upgraded and now comes packed with exciting new web 2.0 social networking features. Previously we had employed a mini social networking script to grab opinion of our users. Given it's success, we have rolled out a major rewrite of DesiTwist. We now have social groups where you can create or join a social group to discuss what matters to you the most. Unlike other services, our social groups offer privacy for you and your group members which can be enabled or disabled by the group leader. Furthermore, we have revamped the member profiles for interactivity and fun.
