Hottest Celeb Hair Trends
This year celebrities have gone hair crazy! So many huge hair trends have flittered in and out of style that you’d be forgiven if you couldn’t quite manage to keep up! nzgirl to the rescue! To help inspire your own personal look, here are all the hottest styles that your favourite celebrities are loving right now. From shorter cuts to romantic waves, we have everything you need to know to keep on top of the hottest celebrity hair trends. ![]() Shorter Hair Arguably the biggest hair trend of the year has been going shorter! Celebs have been ditching the length of their usually long and flowing locks for bolder bobs and chic pixie cuts. Of course the styles have been updated and adapted with the bob now shorter at the back, and longer at the front with strong asymmetrical lines; a look worked well by Rihanna and Victoria Beckham. Bolder celebs, like Michelle Williams have gone for the pixie cut, with short layered lengths to create a cool, messy look for summer. Even celebrities known for their long, feminine locks have jumped on the bandwagon with Katie Holmes now sporting a cute bob. ![]() Faux Bob The short hair look is so hot right now that even celebrities who aren’t game enough to cut their hair, but want the look have developed a ‘faux bob’! Everyone from Ashleigh Simpson, Eva Longoria, Jessica Simpson and even Angelina Jolie have been spotted with the fake bob which sees the hair length tucked away, pinned to the back of the head. It’s a great trick if you want a bit of variety, without going near the scary scissors! And even better, you can try it out for yourself at home. To get the look... Pull hair back into a low ponytail Tuck the ponytail under and secure with bobby pins Pull hair from the top and side to create the illusion that your hair is down Spray entire head with hairspray and pin back any extra long hairs ![]() Romantic Waves For those celebs who haven’t taken the plunge and still have long hair, one of the most popular trends this year has been romantic waves. Soft, plunging curls which begin mid way down the hair length are popular with glamazons like Beyonce and Jenifer Lopez. The look is all about shine, volume and a whole lot of sex appeal! It’s relatively easy to do and suits most people. To get the look...Starting from the mid lengths, begin curling with a large barrelled curing iron or straighter The look is loose curls so don’t make them too tight Set the curls with hairspray. ![]() Blunt Fringe The sweeping side fringe is sill around but the newest, hottest look at the moment is the chunky, blunt fringe. Cut straight across the forehead and sometimes rounded at the edges, this bold look was popular in the 80s. For those of us who don’t have an army of stylists at our beck and call, the blunt fringe can be pretty hit or miss. It’s important to have the right shaped face to work this style; oval or long shaped faces are usually best. Nelly Furtado and Kirsten Dunst are two celebrities who get this look right. ![]() Blonde to Brunette This year a big trend for celebrities was experimenting with hair colour; trying out both blonde and brunette shades. Victoria Beckham has recently ditched her platinum blonde for a more natural, darker shade. Although lots of celebs trialled life as a brunette most like Cameron Diaz and Nicky Hilton have returned to blonde, after subconsciously finding themselves turning lighter and lighter with each trip to the salon. ![]() Clean Hair After years of messy quiffs and dirty locks, clean hair is making a comeback. Celebrities such as Halle Berry are loving the look of freshly washed hair. It may sound boring, but clean hair looks deliciously silky and shiny with natural body and movement. And even better you can give your hair a break and go easy on the straighteners and products. All you need is a bit of leave-in conditioner for moisture and a flick of hairspray over the roots to control any fly-aways. |
