Volume 7, Book 70, Number 545: Sahih bukhari
Narrated Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri and Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "No fatigue, nor disease, nor sorrow, nor sadness, nor hurt, nor distress befalls a Muslim, even if it were the prick he receives from a thorn, but that Allah expiates some of his sins for that." |

wWords Of The Prophet
Take benefit of five before five: your youth before your old age, your health before your sickness, your wealth before your poverty, your free-time before your preoccupation, and your life before your death. -Muhammad, Messenger of God [al-Baihaqee: Saheeh> |

The most excellent Jihad is that for the conquest of self." (Bukhari)
"O Lord, grant me your love, grant me that I love those who love you; grant me, that I might do the deeds that win your love. Make your love dearer to me than the love of myself, my family and wealth." (Tirmidhi) "Verily, a man teaching his child manners is better than giving one bushel of grain in alms." (Muslim) "It is difficult for a man laden with riches to climb the steep path, that leads to bliss." (Muslim) "Once a man, who was passing through a road, found a branch of a tree with torns obstructing it. The man removed the thorns from the way. Allah thanked him and forgave his sins." (Bukhari) "Who are the learned? Those who practice what they know." (Bukhari) "Who is the most favoured of Allah? He, from whom the greatest good comes to His creatures." (Bukhari) "A true Muslim is thankful to Allah in prosperity, and resigned to His will in adversity." (Muslim) "A Muslim who meets with others and shares their burdens is better than one who lives a life of seclusion and contemplation." (Muslim) "Much silence and a good disposition, there are no two things better than these." (Bukhari) "Verily, Allah is mild and is fond of mildness, and He gives to the mild what He does not give to the harsh." (Muslim) "Whoever loves to meet Allah, Allah loves to meet him." (Bukhari) "Verily, it is one of the respects to Allah to honor an old man." (Bukhari) I am leaving two things among you, and if you cling to them firmly you will never go astray; one is the Book of Allah and the other is my way of life." (Farewell Pilgrimage: Muatta) "Allah is One and likes Unity." (Muslim) |

Be optimistic!
Besides fear of Allah, expecting good from Him is an act of sublime merit. Abu Hurairah has quoted a Prophetic saying, “Hoping for good is also an act of worship of Allah.” (Tirmidhi and Hakim) Anas has related that "Once our Prophet - may he be eternally blessed - went to a young man who was on his death bed and asked him 'How do you feel?' The young man said, 'I have much hope from Allah but I also fear for my sins'. The Holy Prophet said, The believer who has these two ideas simultaneously at such time, Allah fulfils his hopes and grants him security from fear." (Tirmidhi). |

God is bountiful and feels unhappy if He has to refuse to grant a wish. He feels embarassed when a man holds out both his hands before Him, and He has to disappoint him by turning him away empty-handed.

Narrated Jabir: Allah's Apostle (SallAllaho Alaihi Wasallam) said to me,
"Have you got married O Jabir?" I replied, "Yes." He asked "What, a virgin or a matron?" I replied, "Not a virgin but a matron." He said, "Why did you not marry a young girl who would have fondled with you?" I replied, "O Allah's Apostle! My father was martyred on the day of Uhud and left nine (orphan) daughters who are my nine sisters; so I disliked to have another young girl of their age, but (I sought) an (elderly) woman who could comb their hair and look after them." The Prophet (SallAllaho Alaihi Wasallam) said, "You have done the right thing |

The Prophet (p.b.u.h) said in this authentic hadith:
“Truly, Allah is happier with the repentance of His slave than one of you who is on his mount, and upon his mount is his drink and food; then he loses his mount in the desert, and he searches for it until he loses hope; so he sleeps and then wakes up to find that his mount is beside him, and he says, ‘O’ Allah, you are my slave and I am your Lord’. He pronounced this mistake as a result of extreme happiness.” |

Allah's Apostle (peace be upon him) said: Strange are the ways of a believer for there is good in every affair of his and this is not the case with anyone else except in the case of a believer for if he has an occasion to feel delight, he thanks (God), thus there is a good for him in it, and if he gets into trouble and shows resignation (and endures it patiently), there is a good for him in it.
