Woman keeping long clean finger nails


Whats the rule of a woman keeping long hand nails and clean?

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.

Lengthening ones nail is contradictory to the Sunnah. Al Bukhari and Muslim reported that the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) said: "Five are among the Fitra acts: "circumcision, shaving pubic hair, plucking out armpit hair, cutting one's nails and trimming one's mustache".
This is because removing such things is among the endless beauties of Islam which urges people to be clean, pure, well-conducted and well-educated. The ultimate aim of Islam is to make the Muslim be in the best state and the best image. No doubt that long nails like the lion's claws are not beautiful.
Islam orders only that which is beautiful and prohibits only that which is ugly.
Not cutting one's nail for more than forty days is dislikeable. Ahmad, Abu Dawud and others reported from Anas who said: "The Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) fixed a deadline for cutting the nails, plucking out the armpit hair and shaving the pubic hair (he ordered us) not to leave any of those more than 40 days."
From the above, as long as the nails do not hold any impurities that affect the validity of prayers and as long as they haven't been cut for only less than forty days, then there is no objection to leaving them. But after 40 days, they should be cut as specified earlier. .
