The Runaway Jury is another best seller from John Grisham. One trial could bring everything down for the tobacco *company being sued. For years the issue of harmful affects caused by smoking have been discussed and finally after numerous trials involving the tobacco companies, the biggest *trial *ever occurs -the trial could *end it all for the multi-million company. The courtroom brawl between two powerful and very capable lawyers attracts a lot of spectators, but what exactly are the intentions of these spectators?
There is a woman who seems to know exactly what the next move of the Jury would be; this knowledge of hers could be crucial for both sides. but her knowledge comes with a price. There is one Juror who is lying; he controls the Jury. which is obious. But which side does he favour? it's a crucial case to win for both sides, one wants glory, the other to save the industry, This Juror and the woman are the key to a win but they both seem to have no past, they showed up out of nowhere and this makes them appear suspicious. they are determined to hide their trial and they defedant is even more determined to find one. The verdict could change the future for either side, and it is solely in the hands of these two.
A motion picture has also been made as an adaptation of the book, starring Rachel Weisz, John Cusak and Gene Hackman.
