Why $0.99 and not $1.00?

Hello,
We usually see this in many supermarket..a tactic of deceive...wat do u think...what is the theory behind it...

i dun knw...i think evry amout having . like .99$ etc.. is a wholesale price..i guess..

Its a act of deceive...

The 0.99$ looks cheap than the 1.00$...
A marketing tactic...

Though theres the difference of 0.1 $...

The appeal is that of a difference much larger..

its a psychological thing.. we as humans are more attracted towards odd numbers and if you look at $1.00.. if you give a dollar bill, you wont get anything back.. if you give $0.99 then you get something back.. this is a marketing ploy for pricing of products

Its bring in an imaginary concept in the mind within a flash, that the price indicated is below the whole number or $1. Its in fact an act of deceiving in a clever mind game. Our brain tends to ignore the fraction number and it remembers and get hit by the whole number. So, if a commodity costs say about $ 1.99, we would forget that $.99 but that $1 of it will get stored in our memory and we would per se mention that the cost of this is around $1 and not $2 though its in fact just the opposite.

.99 is sounds cheaper than 1 doesnt it.. heehe
i used to work at a clothing store and if an item wus 29.99 i would jus say 30 and than my boss heard me one time and told me not to say 30 wen it's 29.99, and wen i asked why he simply told me tht wen i costumer hears 29.99 it's sound cheaper to them than wen they hear 30. hehhe i thought it wus so weird at the time buh now i get the whole thing!
