No! my father is a loser and my mother is a quitter. I am actually collecting all the mistakes that they made so that nothing remains common between us.

To end my post on a positive note, I'd like to mention the patience of my mother: When she decides to zip her mouth, try as hard as you may but you won't hear a word from her. She has gone through enough in life already to see hell as a vacation.

Ahhhhh guys ...

My parents have always been there for us financially if it is. Moral support wasn't that stronge enuff. However, they work hard and never let us feel anything missing in our lives. (siblings lives). However, from my father ... i always wished to be loved from his side. Mother is so compromising .. that's how it worked and still works.

Nice post Saira

Well, I hav tremendous respect for both my parents, especially my father, he has been working so hard ever since he came to America when he was only 25 years old. He has been raising us kids in such a great way. My father basically teaches us that the number one thing we should learn and practice is humanity...that is the most important. Always help someone without expecting anything in return because we r doing it all for ALLAH, and nobody else. I am so proud of him...

Where do i start..i have had everything mixed up. My father bought us up in the most strict way as possible and my mum had no say in it. We were not allowed to mingle with our older guy couzins in case the family starting talking. We were not allowed to cut our hair in such a style or wear anything that was not liked by my dad. My dad was there financially for us and always gave us lectures on the do's and don'ts of this life. Mind u..a slap would not go astray if need be..we were hit really badly as children. On the other hand my mum also suffered a lot. She was such a pressurised women and was not allowed to make any decision or go anywhere by herself..

My dads word ruled the house..

This was when we where young ..but as we hit our teens my dad was very friendly towards us and we saw this sudden change in him. It was like he was our friend and agreed to certain things..but then as we got older..his decisons started to get firmer..confusing..i know

I could go to mum and talk about anything in this world..she was always friendly towards us bro and sisters and cried silently for us..where as my dad used to come and check if we were still in our beds and not out clubbing in the middle of the night .. LOL

Now that i am in my 20's i feel wot my dad did he did to keep us on the staright and narrow..maybe that was his way of upbringing..(stories by him abt my grandmother shows a similarity) But hand on my heart all of us siblings have turned out right. We all have got ourselves an education and now are independent people. Each one of us has it's own car..and a job.

I am not boasting but family mein log mere abu ki misaal dete hein ke england mein bi bacho ko rakh kar oono ne apne bachon ko kharaab nahin hone diyeh.

Overall with all the negatives and the positives added together i am proud of my parents and i am so happy we had them to make us wot we are My Allah SWT keep them happy..give them health and oonka saaya hameshaa humaare sar par rahe. AMEEN SUMAMEEN.
