the village of the Ansar in the morning of the day of 'Ashura'

should not eat but complete the fast, and whoever is observing
the fast should complete it.' " She further said, "Since then

The Prophet (sallallaahu'alaihi wasallam) said. "(The division
of time has turned to its original form which was current when
Allah created the Heavens and the Earths. The year is of
twelve months, out of which four months are sacred: Three are
in succession Dhul-Qa'da, Dhul-Hijja and Muharram, and (the
fourth is) Rajab of (the tribe of) Mudar which comes between

Muhammad (PBUH) was a very cheerful and pleasant person. His

company was neither boring nor dull and uninteresting, like that of

ordinary religious leaders, but was full of pleasant and delightful

humour. He often joked with his companions and laughed with them.

Abdullah ibn Al-Harith bin Jaz said that he had seen no one more

pleasant and smiling than Muhammad(PBUH). It is reported by Abu

Hurairah that Muhammad (PBUH) used to mix with them on familiar

terms, even to the extent of enjoying light jokes with them. Some

companions asked him, "Allah's Messenger! Do you make jokes with

us?" He replied, "I speak nothing but the Truth." (Tirmizi)

'Ali bin Abi Talib's Hadith, may Allah be pleased with him.
Yazid bin Sharik bin Tariq reported: 'Ali bin Abi Talib addressed us and said: He who thought that we have besides the Holy Qur'an anything else that we recite, he told a lie. And this document which is hanging by the sheath of the sword contains but the ages of the camels, and the nature of the wounds. He ('Ali) reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: Medina is sacred from 'Air to Thaur; so if anyone produces a heresy or gives shelter to one guilty of heresy, the curse of Allah, of the angles, and of all persons will fall upon him, and Allah will not accept any obligatory or supererogatory act as recompense from them. And the protection granted by the Muslims is one and must be respected, even if given by the humblest of them. If anyone makes a false claim to paternity, or being a client of other than his own masters, there is upon him the curse of Allah, the angles and the people. Allah will not accept from him any recompense in the form of obligatory acts or supererogatory acts. The hadith transmitted on the authority of Abu Bakr and Zuhair ends with (these words): And must be respected, even if given by the humblest among; and what follows after it is not mentioned there, and in the hadith transmitted by them (these words) are not found: (the document was hanging) on the sheath of his sword.

On the authority of Abu Juhaim (may Allah be pleased with him) who reported that the Messenger of Allah (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had said:

If a man passes in front of the Worshiper when he is engaged in prayer, he realizes the enormity of its sins, it would be forty (times) better for him to wait than tops in front of him.

    (Agreed upon)

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Lessons Deduced:
    - It is forbidden to walk in front of a person who is performing Prayer. If one is praying in a mosque, it is forbidden for anybody to pass between the praying person and the place of his prostration.

In places other than the mosque, if the praying person has a cover in front of him, like a stick or a line drawn in the ground, it is forbidden to pass between him and the cover, provided that the distance is not more than one meter and a half.
    - This rule applies to a person who performs whether optional or obligatory Prayer.

On the authority of Masruq (may Allah be pleased with him) who reported: We visited `Abdullah bin Mas`ud and he said to us:

O people! That who has knowledge of any matter may convey it to others. And that who has not knowledge of it, should say: Allah knows best. It is a sign of knowledge that a man who has no knowledge of a matter should say: Allah knows best. Allah said to His Messenger (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): Say: No reward do I ask of you for (Qur'an), nor am I a Pretender.

    (Reported by Al-Bukhari)

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Lessons Deduced:
    - This hadith warns against overdoing in asking about anything. One should not say or give a legal judgment unless he is sure of the answer.
    - It does not detract from a knowledgeable person to be ignorant of some matters, and he should not be afraid to declare his lack of knowledge about that particular question.
    - One should follow the example of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and avoid excess altogether.
