I think there is only a contradition when the thing we want to change, or alter involves compelling others to do or be as we wish. :wink:

It always comes back to acceptance.
Of who we are, our limitations,our duty to our families, freinds, and peoples.
We impose our worldview on others in an attempt to re-make the world in our image instead of seeing the world for what it is.
We must know and hold our place in this world, and be content with it.

I can think of the following mistakes of men :

1) Not allowing oneself to feel vulnerable ( a necessity when falling in love)

2) Defining oneself by one's job or ability to be a provider

3) Fearing commitment in a relationship

4) Thinking that sex is the most important part of a relationship

5) Not in tune with emotions as their capacity would suggest

I think these may be similar to the Zeest's post of 6 reasons but I agree with all those 6 anyways.
