The Odalisque

Tale of falling and failing in love
May not ring the bell-
Until or unless we sink or swim in it,
Or someone likes to tell!
Episodes get opened and closed,
Depending on choices we make-
As we walk on verdant path
That our life wants to take!
Cheers and tears over the years
Dazzle like the crystal ball-
And paint the calligraphy in our brain
From Spring to Fall!
Waves of emotion inundate the notion
To forge an indelible link-
Of hate and love, from bottom and above,
When we begin to think!
A ring without a string
Acts like a rolling stone-
And thrives in desperation
To chill our skull and bone!
Fame and fortune play vital role
With sands of time-
And navigate the boat of love
Dwindling in the ocean’s chime!
Shadowy mind haunts for love,
Ignoring the spouse’s care-
And the odalisque dons on horizon
With a slinky body to bare!
Love and trust, lust and thirst
Dissuade the long held ring-
Off the spouse’s finger
Before we begin to see the fling!
Cacophony of life starts to dance
With horrific marching band-
While the odalisque takes the helm
To rule with iron hand!
Bitter-sweet memories intertwine
To forbear on hug or kiss-
And mystify the wedlock in a rush
With attenuation without a hiss!!
