Great questions sis..i am going to answer these on a general basis from wot i have seen..as myself i am a give everyone a chance kind of person.

Why can't we accept people in our co'mmunity or society for who they are

Because sometimes we have culture or religion holding us back. Our views on homosexuals are going to be strong as our religion regards this act as evil.

Why can't we get along with each other?

Because everyone seems to think they are better than the other..education..status..caste take blinds us.

Why can't we accept others behavior?
Because we see their faults and dun look @ their strong points.

Why can't we appreciate their contribution?
Because we think we have contributed better or are scared of facing the real truth that we are damn right lazy and someone has done better than us !

Why do we want to see/hear what we want?
Human nature..thats all ! Anything that benefits us or satisfies our needs is what we want !

Human behaviour is influenced by cycles of time.

Text of ancient Greece and Rome wrote about four ages of man -
golden age, silver age, bronz age and iron age. The
classification was according to superiority of metals. The
ancient Hindu texts worte about Krita Yuga, Treta Yuga, Dwapara
Yuga, and Kali Yuga. Krita Yuga was the age of learning - the
Vedas were written during that time. Treta Yuga was the age of
great physical actions, like Rama making war with Ravana. Dwapara
Yuga is the age of romance, like the romantic episodes of
Krishna. In Sanskrit, Kala Ratri means darkest period of night.
The name Kali Yuga means age of deep darkness. The cycle of Yugas
corresponds to the cycle of day - morning time, afternoon time,
early night time and time of deep darkness. It is known to many
teachers that students are at their best for learning during
morning time. For engineering students, the afternoon time is the
best for workshop practicals and engines lab practicals. It is
the experience of most that early night time is most suitable for
reading books or seeing movies on romantic episodes.

Kali Yuga, the age of darkness is charcterized by selfishness.
Most people can not see through psychic darkness and think
of themselves only. This is why people want to see or hear
    what they want.
