October 24 has always been a date to look forward to. The date not only happens to be Subhash Ghai and wife Rehana's wedding anniversary, but the Showman has, unfailingly, announced new projects on this date. This year was no different. Ghai announced four new projects on the occasion, to be directed by Satish Kaushik, Abbas-Mustan [once again after AITRAAZ], Nagesh Kukunoor and Ghai himself [will roll after KISNA] each. Ghai's close friends were present on the occasion, which included Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Priyanka Chopra, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff [Ghai jokingly referred to him as the 'founder member' of Mukta Arts], Hrithik Roshan, Hrishitaa Bhatt, Ritesh Deshmukh, Amrish Puri, politician Rajiv Shukla, Ramesh Sippy and wife Kiron, Guild chief Amit Khanna, Hungama.com/Indiafm.com chief Neeraj Roy and wife Raunaq, Pooja Shetty, music directors Himesh Reshammiya and Ismail Darbar, singers Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik, lyricist Sameer, Dr. Jabbar Patel, Tinu Verma, besides the technicians and distributors associated with the company. Later, Ghai introduced Isha Sharwani, being launched in his forthcoming film KISNA, to the august gathering. Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor entered the party pretty late [Shahid drove down from Pune - he's shooting there for John Matthew Matthan's new film]. While the star cast of the four projects wasn't announced on the occasion [“the captains - directors - have been finalized, the players - stars - will follow later,” Ghai proclaimed], there's talk that at least two projects would be multi-hero fares.Nagesh Kukunoor's project would be different in terms of casting and plot. “It revolves around a 15-year-old deaf and mute boy who eventually makes it to the Indian cricket team,” he fills in. All said, an evening to remember!
