    Hello Everyone,
    A Japanese man recently married a virtual character. For real. The wedding - between the man, who is identified by his online moniker SAL9000, and Nene Agasaki, a character in the Love Plus dating simulation game - took place late in November and the couple reportedly went on a honeymoon to Guam. The number of 'otakus' - a breed of Japanese youth obsessed with the fantasy world of games and networking - has been steadily growing in Japan.
    The question is what impact does virtual worlds are having on real lives. Do you think the increasing use of the internet to socialise is a serious threat to relationships?

    The popularity of flawless virtual characters is a threat to our social structure.
