Thread: Lucky - No Time For Love

  1. #1

Set against the romantic and majestic backdrop of St. Petersberg, Lucky is a tale of love that's brings together two people who would probably have never met if not for the hand of destiny.

Lucky (Sneha Ullal) is the quintessential dreamer - soft, beautiful and gentle. Her one big belief is that if you search from the bottom of your heart then you can find the rainbow, not just the rainbow but also the crock of gold at the end of the rainbow.

One calm “Petersbergian” morning Lucky's riding to school and calling on all her guardian angels to grant her a miracle - a teeny weeny, it's bitsy one - “please God I wish from the bottom of my heart that school is shut today”.

But sometimes your deepest wish can turn into your worst, nightmare. Her journey to school becomes her most desperate journey of survival. Caught unawares by an unexpected wave of insurgency in St. Petrsberg, Lucky tries to feel to safety. But there is no safety. As dread and fear overtake, she meets a stranger, a fellow countryman Aditya Sekhri (Salman Khan) who's smart, wicked, charming and a true blue sophisticate.

They have nothing in common... She's excessively naïve and he's to blasé. They are bound together by just one common goal… to reach home safely.

And now begins an unforgettable journey from - burning highways and moldy cemeteries to abandoned theaters and icy snowdrift. A journey where violence and tragedy stalk them constantly… where there is little time for talk and survival comes only from being constantly on guard.

As they march through savage ambushes and the icy wilderness of a foreign land, they discover the limit of their endurance. They also discover that love can creep in on you… though there's no time for it.

Amidst all commotion an Intelligence guy, Colonel Pindidas Kapoor (Mithun Chakraborthy) helps them escape from the Civil War.

he payed a heavy amount to the family of those killed. here's the verdict

MUMBAI: Non-life insurers are a harried lot these days, thanks to Bollywood superbrat, Salman Khan. The high court order requiring Khan to cough up Rs 10 lakh to relatives of the deceased accident victim has left them wondering as to what would be the order's fallout on compensations in other motor accidents cases.
On Monday, a division bench of the Mumbai High Court ordered the Bollywood actor to pay compensation totalling to Rs 19 lakh to relatives of the deceased victim and four others, who were injured when his Landcruiser ran over footpath dwellers in the north-west suburb of Bandra last week.
Besides the Rs 10 lakh compensation for the deceased, Khan has been ordered to pay Rs 3 lakh each to the two seriously injured victims and Rs 1.5 lakh each to the other two, who have suffered minor injuries.
Though insurers are yet to obtain details of the court's order, they say that motor accident victims may claim higher compensation citing this award. So far, the Motor Accident Claims Tribunal has been awarding compensation based on the victim's earning capacity.
Insurers are not reassured by the fact that it is Salman Khan and not the insurance company, which has been directed to pay the compensation. According to insurance officials, once the victim's entitlement to the compensation is established, the insurer may be held liable if the vehicle owner doesn't have deep pockets to meet the award.
One of the petitions made in the PIL was that the compensation paid to the victims should be linked not to their earning capacity, but to the vehicle owner's paying capacity.
Considering that the victims were footpath dwellers with measly earnings their relatives could have expected at best a modest compensation from the Motor Accident Claims Tribunal.
On the other hand, insurance companies have been complaining that they are paying double the premium they collect in the form of third party claims in motor accidents. Insurance companies have been lobbying for a legislation that will impose a structured compensation formula and would thus put a cap on all motor accident awards.
There have been large compensation awards in the past. But these were rare cases, where victims were high net worth individuals. The highest award has been the Rs 16 crore awarded to Patricia Jean Mahajan, the wife of NRI doctor, Suresh Mahajan, who was killed in a motor accident.
The award was based on a multiple of the annual earnings of the doctor, who owned a nursing home in the US. Even this amount was reduced by nearly 50% following a Supreme Court order on an appeal by United India Insurance, which had been ordered to pay the compensation.
