Take a close look at your hands. Are there small haemorrhages – that look like wood splinters – under your fingernails?

What it might mean?
Ask yourself, “Have I been tortured recently?” If the answer is no, you may have endocarditis, an infection in one of the valves in your heart. Splinter haemorrhages are blood clots that have been thrown of by the infection and then have lodged in the small blood vessels. Getting a manicure won’t help. Get yourself to a doctor.
