Thread: Vivek Oberoi opts out of film starring Aishwarya Rai

  1. #1
Having already parted ways in personal life, Vivek Oberoi and Aishwarya Rai seem to be keeping distance in professional life too. For quite some time, filmmaker Mani Ratnam has been toying with the idea of making a film with Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai in the leading roles.

The project is now almost finalized. It is titled 'Guru'. Mani is said to have plans to cast Vivek Oberoi, who acted in the filmmaker's Yuva in 2004, in an important role opposite Vidya Balan in the film. Early on, Vivek had allegedly given his nod to Ratnam. But after the developments of the past few months in which Vivek and Ash ended their relationship and reports of Ash's romance with Abhishek came up, Vivek is reported to have decided to opt out of the project. One can understand Vivek's predicament. To work in a film that has Ash and Abhi in the lead would be akin to rubbing salt to one's own emotional wounds. Anyway, the movie is already in the discussion stages, so there would be hardly any jolt to its progress because of Vivek's departure.
