Beautiful Tragedy

You and I
we have created a beautiful tragedy
our hearts were taken in by darkness
struggled to understand simple thoughts and feelings
cruel intentions always occupied our time
stuck and trapped
there was no other way out
emotional pain never ends
I wish I had a video camera to fast forward my life
I am fed up with dealing with meaningless differences
tried to change the course of our lives
we both ended up bruised and broken
the world moved on and we didnt
we did not accept things at face value
always dug deep
at time we found ourselves lost in an emotional wilderness
never left the past behind us
it was the future we wanted to forget
did we remain loyal through thick and thin?
complicated simple issues
wasted hours debating empty disputes
we needed faith in our own deepest insights and instincts
both diappeared without a trace
fell apart in eachothers eyes
and slowly died in the shallow dim light of paranoia
